The Big Bang Theory
In this highly acclaimed comedy that is in it's fifth season, it's hard not to get sucked right into the geniously crafted dialogue and sophisticated nerd wit that the show presents. It's seven main characters, 6 of whom are involved in a flirty, side story relationship with each other, that serves mainly as an added cohesion to the sitcom's narrative among this young scientific group of friends. The lead actress Kaley Cuocco plays Penny, the personable less studious waitress who leads the female troupe in anecdotal scenes and shares a romantic inclination with Leonard, played by Johnny Galecki. He and Sheldon, the lead male actor, played by Jim Parsons are house mates, who portray many of the idiosyncratic nuances particularly of Sheldon as a brainiac that anyone in their right mind wouldn't have the patience for as a roommate. Johnny Galecki is the most recognizable male actor in the show who played Chevy Chase's son Russ in Xmas Vacation and the rebellious boyfriend/neighbor from the famed show Roseanne.
The other rediscovered star from the 90's TV era is the show's supporting actress Amy Fowler, played by Mayim Bialik, known for her young acting role as Blossom. She's the charming, suddle, practical female who is a scientific researcher, a role that landed her an emmy nomination, who also dates eccentric Sheldon. Melissa Rauch who plays Burnadette, shares a striking resemblance to a blonde Tina Fey but boasts an exemplary resume from her prior work on The Office, True Blood, several movie spots and in theater. She blends a strong supporting character with the neatly developed totality of the episode's plot lines and dates supporting character Howard, a freelance scientist still living with his parents, played by Simon Helberg. If you can imagine the final character of the show as somewhat similar to Fez from That Seventies Show, the person would have to be Raj, played by Kumal Nayyar. They round out all seven of the characters on this entertaining Thursday night comedy on CBS.
